How to protect yourself against phishing, viruses, etc.
The tricks used by cybercriminals are getting more and more sophisticated. Some phishing e-mails look strikingly real. Websites that appear to be trustworthy include malware. Oftentimes, you need to look very closely to identify the work of criminals. Below, you will find useful tips for your everyday life. Here is how you can protect yourself:

E-mail security

Delete e-mails that do not come from trustworthy sources such as Österreichische Post. Use e-mail providers for whom security is a top priority. Whenever you receive a new message, ask yourself if you were expecting an e-mail from the sender in question. Cybercriminals can falsify the sender of e-mails but not the actual e-mail address behind it. To check if you have received a phishing e-mail, move the mouse cursor over the name of the sender and you will see the actual e-mail address.

Safe surfing

When logging in, make sure you are actually on a website of Österreichische Post. Make sure that the URL is 100% correct. Criminals often use very similar names. Follow any security alerts given by your internet browser.

Protecting your personal data

Keep your passwords and PINs in a safe place and do not share them with others. Do not send usernames, passwords, credit card data and account information via e-mail.

Also, make sure you do not share such information with unknown people over the phone.
