Everything you need to know about our Sunday Heroes and Co-Heroes

As a Sunday Hero weekend delivery person, you keep Austrian Post – and the country – moving. You don’t just deliver parcels, you deliver real joy. You provide top-class service, make people smile, and enjoy the freedom to shape the rest of your week the way that suits you best.

As a Co-Hero sorting assistant, you lay the foundation for smooth operations – nothing works without you!
You make sure all parcels are perfectly prepared so our Sunday Hero delivery persons can deliver them quickly and efficiently.

We are currently recruiting in 1230 Vienna (Erzherzog-Karl-Straße 135) and 2201 Hagenbrunn (Logistikstraße 15)As a Sunday Hero, you would deliver parcels to our customers across all of Vienna. As a Co-Hero, you would help sort the parcels at the delivery base in preparation for delivery.

In the coming months, we’ll also be looking for Sunday Heroes and Co-Heroes in Linz and Graz.

We will be hiring from April 2025. Two days are reserved for training. After all, we want you to be well prepared for your Hero activities.

2. You’ll receive prompt feedback on whether we can consider you for a Hero or Co-Hero role.
3. One of our recruiters will contact you by phone to discuss the key details.
4. After that, you’ll be invited to a recruitment day at the delivery base. Please bring the most important documents with you so we can complete everything needed for your onboarding as a Hero or Co-Hero. As a matter of course, we will send you an e-mail in advance with full details about which documents to bring.

  • Valid passport or national ID card
  • Current proof of residence (registration form)
  • Bank card in your name (front and back)
  • E-Card (front and back)
  • Work permit, residence permit, convention passport, or complete positive asylum decision
  • If already available: certificate of good conduct / criminal record extract (no older than 3 months)

We will be hiring from April 2025.
As a Hero, you will be working 10 hours on Saturday and Sunday. Delivery shifts are from 9:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
As a Co-Hero, you will be working for 4-5 hours in pre-sorting on Sunday. Pre-sorting shifts are from 5:00 or 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. in the morning.

Your salary as a Sunday Hero:
You’ll receive fair pay of around €1,360 gross per month, including travel expenses and bonuses, for a 20-hour work week (on Saturdays and Sundays).
Your salary as a Co-Hero:
You’ll earn €17.50 gross per hour for Sunday shifts, including Sunday premiums and proportional holiday pay/special payments, based on an hourly employment contract.

Yes, full-time employment as a Sunday Hero or Co-Hero is also possible with us.
You decide – Sunday is fixed, but the rest of your schedule is flexible. A full-time role with 40 hours per week over 4 days is absolutely possible (e.g., Sunday plus 3 additional weekdays).

Your salary as a Sunday Hero:
You’ll receive fair pay of around 2,580 euros gross per month, including travel expenses and bonuses, for a 40-hour week as part of a 4-day schedule.

Your salary as a Co-Hero:
This role shifts to a standard employment contract. Depending on your number of weekly hours, your gross monthly salary ranges from approx. 505 euros for 10 hours per week (including Sunday premium) up to approx. 2,020 euros for 40 hours per week (including Sunday premium), plus special payments and bonuses.

 

 

 

Two days before your official start date are reserved for onboarding. We want you to be well-prepared to take on your Hero duties with confidence.
The exact training location will be confirmed once you are hired – but here are the possible sites in advance:

Sunday Heroes will be trained at one of four locations, depending on where their future role is based:

  • Erzherzog-Karl-Str. 135, 1220 Vienna – 22/04 to 25/04, from 6:00 a.m.
  • Logistikstraße 15, 2201 Hagenbrunn – 22/04 to 25/04, from 6:00 a.m.
  • Brunner Straße 65, 1230 Vienna – 19/05 to 23/05, from 6:00 a.m.
  • Halban-Kurz-Straße 10, 1230 Vienna – 19/05 to 23/05, from 6:00 a.m.

Co-Heroes will be trained at one of two locations, depending on their future duty station:

  • Erzherzog-Karl-Str. 135, 1220 Vienna – 23/04 to 25/04, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
  • Brunner Straße 65, 1230 Vienna – 21/05 to 23/05, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

  • You enjoy interacting with people
  • You have full access to the Austrian labour market
  • You are at least 18 years old  
  • German skills 
  • For Sunday Heroes, a category B driving licence is required
