Augustiner Bräustübl Mülln: Monastery with a world-famous brewery 11.05.2022

Special stamp Augustiner Bräustübl Mülln

In the Mülln district of the city of Salzburg, beer has been brewed for more than 400 years. The adjacent Augustiner Bräustübl features a large outdoor dining area where patrons can enjoy their beer in style.

In 1621, Augustinian hermits at the Augustinian monastery founded the brewery, which exists to this day, and soon opened a tavern. In 1835, the Benedictines of Michaelbeuern took over the monastery along with its brewery. The business grew steadily and is now operated by Augustiner Bräu Kloster Mülln OG.

Märzen beer is served in traditional stone mugs that bear the Bräustübl logo. Depending on the season, Lent and Bock beers are also on the menu. Guests can traditionally bring their own food or order Austrian delicacies such as spreads, radishes, grilled chicken, etc. to go with their beer and enjoy their meal with friends.
