Literature for the blind for business clients
Literature for the blind refers to items or devices, documents, etc. sent or addressed to blind persons, organisations for the blind and companies that support the blind.
These items can be sent through Österreichische Post free of charge. Literature for the blind must be sent unsealed for easy verification of the content.
What can be sent as literature for the blind?
- Documents in Braille script
- Audio recordings and data carriers intended for blind persons
- Books
- Paper for Braille script
- Devices and any material used to help the blind or overcome blindness (specially adapted CDs, Braille scripts, equipment, watches for the blind, white canes, recording devices)
What may NOT be sent as literature for the blind?
- Advertising mail (Direct Mail)
- Personal letters
- Objects of value
Labelling and additional information
Labelling:
In the stamp area on the address side, please include the information "Blindensendung" ("Literature for the blind") or "Envois pour les aveugles".
Additional information:
If no additonal services (e.g., registered mail) will be used, please add the information "Nicht stempeln" ("Do not postmark") in the upper right-hand corner.
Format and weight
Format: the same specifications as for letter-mail items apply.
Weight: 7,000 g maximum
