Digitise microfilm

Microfilm is considered a long-term archiving option because data can be stored on it for up to 500 years without quality loss. To this day, many companies that handle high data volumes such as archives and museums have their data exclusively on microfilm. Our professional solution for swift and straightforward microfilm digitisation provides convenient access to your archived documents. We will scan your roll films, microfiches, jackets and microfilm cards swiftly and in high quality. This will save you painful and labour-intensive data research on microfilm and will allow you to make your processes in a digital archive significantly easier. By the way: we also digitise sensitive documents and entire archives.

What kinds of microfilm can be digitised?

Using our special scanning systems, we can make the following formats permanently readable and make them digitally available:

  • 16mm and 35mm roll films
  • 105 x 148 mm microfich cards and jackets
  • 35mm microfilm cards

How microfilm digitisation works

  1. Collection or reception of the microfilm archive
Our in-house courier service will pick up the microfilm from the comfort of your home.
  2. Preparation & digitisation
We will then sort your microfilm and prepare them for digitisation. We use microfilm scanners to scan your microfilm.
  3. Readability review
We will check all created TIFF or JPG files for readability. Upon request, we will also record them using OCR so that texts can be searched digitally.
  4. Data extraction & classification
The newly digitised microfilm will now be classified by our software and the data contained therein will be extracted.
  5. Data delivery
We will deliver the indexed data to you either via SFTP server or on a hard drive, whichever you prefer. We will return your microfilm just as we received them.
